Boorganna Nature Reserve - Comboyne, NSW

I was advised some time ago that Laetiporus sulphureus was not found in Australia, apart from a few reports in Botanic Gardens. However this appear to be incorrect as in later January 2017 I photographed what appears to be Laetiporus sulphureus in the Border Ranges in Northern NSW. I have subsequently heard that its possible the species found in Australia may be a different species.
In January 2017 along with Peter Woodard I photographed a number of large aggregations on a log in Boorganna Nature Reserve near Comboyne on the NSW Mid North Coast and it appears to have now turned up in late April 2017 in a remote part of the Tarkine, not on the tourist trail.
In both cases where I have seen it it is very close to a major walking trail and growing on the side of a large log.
So is it an Australian endemic, is it a different or even a new Australian species, or is it a blow in?
Whatever the case its distribution now appears to range from Cairns in the north to the Tarkine in western Tasmania.
My images were taken with an IPhone but I feel they don't accurately reflect the true deep orange colour of the species.
