About the Apple iPhone

When the Apple iPhone finally reached stores in June 2007, thousands lined up to get one. One year later, people are still buying it in droves! The Apple iPhone is a very innovative, multi-media, gadget that is much more than just a mobile phone, with many other cool features.

At the moment, AT&T Mobile is the exclusive carrier for the Apple iPhone. This will be so until the year 2009. Of course, many have already unlocked the iPhone (and will continue to do so) to use their carrier of choice.

Features of the Apple iPhone

The Apple iPhone includes standard cellular phone features like texting (SMS), calling and visual voicemail capability, along with a 2.0 megapixel camera for digital still pictures. It offers its users internet-based features like email and web browsing. The Apple iPhone also has a touch screen with virtual keyboard and buttons to navigate and control the cellular phone.

But this amazing gadget really has awesome additional features! The 3.5 inch touch-screen liquid crystal display can be manipulated with only your fingers! The Apple iPhone has predictive text input, spell checking capabilities and even a dictionary for quick consultation. It also has a music library which is easier to use and navigate than earlier iPods. It can furthermore play videos and TV on its wide screen. The built-in Wi-Fi capabilities feature a Safari Web Browser and web browsing.

The Apple iPhone has a built-in battery that is rechargeable. When the battery reaches its end-of-life and ceases to function, you will have to return the entire cellular phone to Apple and have it replaced. Ouch!

What it Lacks?

The Apple iPhone lacks some features that are already present in other cellular phones like multi-media sending, Bluetooth file transfer features, an external Memory Card Slot, GPS capability, voice dialing and recording, and a few more. Other additional features might be released for the iPhone through iTunes via the internet. Possible software updates might concern security, Flash support and maybe a mobile chat client.

At time of publishing, the retail price for an Apple iPhone is $499 for the 4 gigabyte version, and $599 for the 8GB iPhone. However, you can probably pick one up for far less through eBay and other discounters. Shop now!
